Marching Season will soon be in full swing with home football games and competitions - Check the CHARMS link on the right of this site for current band calendar information.

• Marching Band PICTURE DAY is FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 24. Click  for Photo Report Time AND Photo Ordering Info. (Order envelopes are in the band room).
• BORDERS and WALDEN Books Munster Band Backers Benefit Days are Saturday, September 25 and Sunday, September 26.  Use the Benefit Days Coupon or order online with promotion code MUNB9256K and a percentage of net sales will be donated to Munster Band Backers!  Share this coupon with friends and family!!  Click for Borders Benefit Days coupon.
• KATA show shirts and parent band polos will be arriving soon - if you missed the ordering deadlines, contact the directors for show shirts or ruthyoth@sbcglobal.net for red polos.

Please watch your emails! Details will be arriving soon regarding an opportunity to order T-shirts and Hoodies celebrating our  MHS Marching Mustang Band 2010 show.

ALSO: All FRESHMEN and any other band members ordering marching shoes (PLEASE BE PREPARED WITH YOUR SHOES FOR THE 1st HOME FOOTBALL GAME - Friday, AUGUST 27).

We will be transitioning away from the drillmaster style shoe and moving towards using the BLACK MTX shoe next year.

If you already own or have ordered the black drillmaster style shoe - not a problem, they will still be acceptable. If you are ordering new marching shoes - please order the MTX Black style. Ordering information can be found here .

Attention Parents!     With the start of school, also brings another Marching Band Competition Season. When we travel to the different competition sites, we travel with a semi-trailer.  

In the past, there have been a couple of parents who owned/operated a tractor/cab, donating their time by driving the semi-trailer. We have also had a parent who donated the use of their tractor and used our “approved” driver.
Munster Band Backers will pay for the gas and if needed, driver fees.   

If there are any parents that may have access to a tractor/cab, that would be willing to transport the semi-trailer to the upcoming competitions, please contact Bob Ballard at 219-922-6224, or 312-907-4238; or email rkballard5@aol.com by August 20.     

The upcoming dates for the competitions are :

September 11 (possibly), Sept 18,  Sept 25,  Oct 2 (Districts), Oct 9 (Possible),  Oct 16
(Regionals), Oct 23 (Semi State), Oct 30 (State).

If we do not hear from any parents by August 20, we will reserve a rental tractor/cab  and secure a CDL Driver for the competitions.    Please note that if a parent gives his or her time to drive the semi, they would be awarded points for the hours worked.

ALL ALUMNI/PREVIOUS BAND STUDENTS, or ALUMNI BAND PARENTS THAT MAY STILL HAVE MHS BAND POLO’S — we are in REALLY short supply of khaki shorts and red polo’s. If you still have any of these items, PLEASE RETURN THEM DURING BAND CAMP to either Mrs. Drabenstot, Mrs. Yothment, or Mrs. Ballard - or send them with a current band student (or drop them off at the uniform closet during band camp!!)
