Munster Band Program

Back by popular demand, the Trash Bag Fundraiser.  Munster Band Students will be selling 100% Recycled Plastic, heavy duty trash bags for $12 per roll.  The bags come in 18 gallon, 30 gallon, 39 gallon and 55-60 gallon sizes.  These bags are made in Indiana.  The band will receive 50% of all sales.  Each student will receive a sales form on Tuesday, January 17, or you can click on the link below to download a copy:

All checks should be made payable to Munster Band Backers and need to be turned into the the Band office at Munster High School or Wilbur Wright Middle School by January 30 with the order form.  For more information contact Pat Cappo at pkmcmdj@yahoo.com or email the Band Backers at munsterbandbackers@yahoo.com. Order a DVD which will include a documentary of the Munster Mustang Marching Band, “Road to State”, a high-cam view of the performance at Lucas Oil Stadium, and the Banquet slide show of various pictures throughout the 2011 Marching Band Season.  The cost is $20 which includes the production cost and copyright sync rights of the State video.  Make checks payable to Munster High School.  Pre-orders will be available for pick up at the Band Banquet, or from the Band Room Office after the banquet.  Orders can still be placed for a later delivery date.  Order Form Link:  Road to State DVD Pre-Order Form

Congratulations to the Marching Mustangs for an outstanding year!  The Band competed in ISSMA and Invitation Marching Competitions for their 2011 Field Show, “Bounce.”  Below is a recap of the season:

ISSMA State Finals at Lucas Oil Stadium - Ranked 10th in State in Class B

ISSMA Semi State at Pike High School - Ranked in the top 10 - advanced to State Finals

ISSMA Regional Competition at Lafayette Jefferson - Gold Rating

Plymouth Invitational - competed in Class A category and received - 1st Place Award, Best Drum Major, Best Percussion, Best Music, and Fan’s Choice Award

ISSMA District Competition at Lewis Cass - Gold Rating - Received awards for Best Music, Best General Effect, and Best Visual Effect

Twin Lakes Invitational Competition - Monticello - Received 1st Place Award, Best Pit Crew, Best Drum Major, Best Music, and Best General Effect

Concord Invitational - Elkart - Received 2nd Place Award.

FRIP allows Band Backer families (& their friends/relatives) to purchase grocery, retail, gas, etc. certificates through the Band Backers.  Band Backers purchase the certificates at a discount, then sells the certificates at face value and credits the discount to your family’s account.  Click on the link below for more information  on the FRIP Program, Enrollment Form, FAQs, and Policies and Procedures.  After reading this information, should you have further questions, please contact FRIP Coordinator, Laura Jercha, at munsterbandbackers@yahoo.com.

The Band will travel to Hawaii during Spring Break, 2012.  A final balance due notice will be going out by January 15.  Trip balances will be due by January 31.  All payments will need to be turned into the envelope in Mr. Winternheimers office.  Please send in any trip payments to the Band Room and place them in the envelope marked “Hawaii Payments” in Mr. Winternheimer’s office.  Make checks payable to Munster High School. (Please note the change in payee.)

Installment payments are recorded on your Charms Student Account.  If you signed up as a Chaperone or additional trip member you have your own Charms Trip Account.  For more information on your Charms account contact Kim Ballard at rkballard5@aol.com.

Munster Mustang Spirit Flags can be ordered by downloading  an order form by clicking on the link.  Please give your order form with payment to Carrie Wadas.  Please note:   The house flags are not available at this time.  The garden flags and the car flags are plentiful.  The flags will allow us to show our Marching Mustang Pride when we are traveling to contests and competitions.  Munster Spirit Flag Order Form

Click 2011-2012 Band Backer Membership Form to download a form and give it to a Band Backer Board Member or send it in.  The Early Bird dues are $15 by August 5 or $20 after that.  Remember to earn points for the time you donate to the Band Events, you must be a Band Backer Member.
